PROJECT RESCUE — CLIENT STORY

Giving leadership the freedom
to step out of financial management.

This Project Rescue client story shows how SBK moved day-to-day finance off leadership and into a managed operating rhythm.

The Situation

Donor support for Project Rescue grew three to four times in a matter of a couple of years. As the ministry expanded across 16 countries, leadership knew donors deserved strict accountability, real checks and balances, and careful stewardship. Then their only in-house accountant returned to public accounting, leaving a hole at exactly the moment the finance function needed to grow up, not start over.

What Changed

Instead of hiring another single specialist, Project Rescue partnered with SBK for a team. We took responsibility for the full financial suite: bookkeeping, bill pay, payroll, reconciliations, financial statements, compliance, and the reporting that goes to their board. We worked inside the systems they already had, and we built new procedures to keep pace with their growth.

The Result

The finance function no longer depends on one person, even as the organization grows.

  • Bookkeeping through board reporting is handled by one team of specialists.

  • Leadership stays focused on reaching the next one, not on chasing the books.

  • The finance function scaled alongside a resource office team that tripled in three years.
